MORRISVILLE, N.C., February 23, 2000 – Red Storm Entertainment, Inc. today announced the plan to release Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear for the PlayStation platform. Rogue Spear is the sequel to the award winning PC game and top selling PlayStation game, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six.

The PC version of Rogue Spear is notable in its own right, having won the coveted Game of the Year Award from both PC Gamer and Computer Gaming World. Developed by Saffire Corporation, the same company that developed the Nintendo 64 version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, the PlayStation version of Rogue Spear will stay true to the most popular elements of the PC version.

"We intend to continue the expansion of the Rainbow franchise and we know and respect the high quality and professionalism of Saffire's work,” Red Storm President and CEO Doug Littlejohns said. “When it came to choosing a developer for this exciting and challenging project Saffire was the obvious choice"

“We at Saffire relish the opportunity to take the great Rogue Spear property and give it life on the PSX,” Saffire Corporation President Hal Rushton said. “We relish the opportunity to team with Red Storm to bring out another ‘butt-kicking’ console game.”

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear for the PlayStation is due for release during the 4th quarter of this year.
