Summary

Call of Duty Hunting Simulator certainly isn't. The niche shooter/sports crossover genre of hunting has been growing on console in recent years, and Neopica's offering is the latest title to bring it out of arcade cabinets in American bars and onto our living room screens.

Hunting Simulator eschews fast thrills in favour of immersion and the slow, skillful work of tracking and killing animals that has thrilled hunters ever since we first learned how to sharpen a stick into a spear. Once you're out in the wild the game becomes about observation and patience. Different animals have different ranges for the their senses and if you get too close you'll spook them and they'll scarper. Stealth is definitely the key here. When you've used all the information at your disposal to find your prey on its home turf the crucial moment comes. Line the creature up in your sights and then hold your nerve while you take the nerve-wracking shot you've been building up to!

It helps, of course, that you're trekking through some of the most beautiful mountains, deserts and forests that our planet has to offer.

There's tons of content packed into the box, too - 12 massive hunting zones, dozens of weapons and accessories ranging from high tech rifles to bows, decoys to wind powder, a campaign with over a hundred missions and a co-op mode that enables you to team up with three friends.
