I did two hours of it an the XBox Live centre today. I might be more on the B+ side of things. I wouldn't say that the controls work like a dream. The context-sensitive use of the A-button was clever and well implemented, but sometimes gave you lack of precise control.
Also, WTF about not being able to assist/heal your buddies when you are in cover mode? Ridiculous.

I see you've been playing FEAR. I'd say it's as good as fear. Better graphics, worse AI.

Cool, I was really enjoying FEAR before my 360 died. Also, shooting Lupos and Kid_77 should be fun!

Like a lot of other GoW reviews, this one fails to mention one of the game's best (and soon to be massively imitated) features - the fact that you can play through the single-player campaign co-op with a mate on Xbox Live. It is, for want of a less lazy description, f**king brilliant! Forget the jaw-dropping visuals - this is next-gen gaming.

Finished it with a mate on co-op over the weekend - 7 hours on Friday, and another 4 on Saturday.

My friend, not really big on this kind of game and certainly not drawn in by hype, will not shut up about the game. He thinks it's possibly the best shooter ever, which I think may be pushing it a little but still holds true enough.

My only issue is plot, or lack of explanation of it at least. Why was Fenix imprisoned? That whole house thing? Why no Brumak fight? But still, we didn't notice all this til we finished it, because we were hypnotised and mesmerised. Heck, Friday's game session ended at 4:30am!

Planed as a series. They already said they are in planning for the sequel. The end is intetionaly loose and its published by MS. Lookign at halo it woudl be foolish to think they woudl have a property like this and not intend to make 20 of em. BEst of all i doubt itll be more than 2 years before we get a sequel. so halo3 next year, then when that finaly starts to thin out online, gears 2. By then well already be looking at the next next-gen. I don't even know why we bother writing news, it's all practically laid out already ;)
