Following months of derision for its most recent E3 video game expo, the Entertainment Software Association has decided to widen the audience and confirm the date and venue for the 2009 event.
We say, "following months of derision", but the ESA says, "After conducting both qualitative and quantitative research, ESA officials stated changes were necessary to better meet the needs of both exhibitors and attendees - these changes include increased booth sizes, increased qualified audiences, and an intensified focus on reinforcing the high-octane growth, innovation, and captivating entertainment that are driving the computer and video game industry."
The event will take place from June 2nd to the 4th, 2009, at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. The industry and media will, of course, immediately start demanding booth babes. What they'll get will be "Companies involved in console, PC, online, and mobile game publishing and developing, qualified business partners, as well as makers of video game hardware and peripherals".
What won't be demanded as much will be the attendance of the buying and gaming public. At least no mention of tickets for actual consumers has yet been made.
