The creation from Spanish developer, Tragnarion, Doodle Hex is set in the 'College of Runes' where you, the player, learn the intricacies of that most delicate of arts, rune casting. The mischievously school ghost, Kalamazoo (everywhere has one these days) arranges battles between students. Your task is to battle through your opponents or 'Doodlers' in a turn-based style. The way to do that is to deplete your enemy's energy to zero before they have the chance to get you, resulting in a simple yet effective game
Runes are drawn using the DS's touch screen and stylus, creating a range of effects with which to send your opponents packing. The runes can be used to attack, defend, heal or put together in lethal combinations. There are 14 players to choose from, each with their own speciality in rune casting.
The game comes with an intriguing comic book interface, not to mention online head-to-head capabilities that pit you against a friend.
Who would have thought that a task so apparently innocuous as doodling could have such lethal consequences? It's time to put those skills you built up idly whiling away your school hours to good use...
