IncaGold plc today announced that industry veteran Peter Hofschröer is to join the board of IncaGold plc as Chief Operations Officer. In his new role, Peter Hofschröer will be coordinating the publisher's worldwide sales operation.

Peter Hofschröer has been in the computer games industry from its early days, founding MicroProse’s German office and taking that company to market leadership in Europe’s largest PC games market, establishing brands like “Railroad Tycoon” ® and “Civilization” ®. After a short spell at Psygnosis, the publishers of “Lemmings” ®, he then rejoined MicroProse, heading up the German distribution wing of this company before moving to Interactive Magic as Managing Director. Here, Peter introduced online gaming to the German market through products like “WarBirds” ® and played a key role in Interactive Magic’s successful IPO and listing on NASDAQ. After Interactive Magic, he joined Austrian publisher JoWooD as International Sales Director, establishing this company in the global market, an important step towards this company’s successful IPO in Vienna in 2001. On leaving JoWooD, Peter worked for German publisher CDV as President of their Asian office. Since then, Peter has been advising IncaGold on the company’s expansion plans.

Richard M. Holmes, IncaGold chief executive officer, comments, “Peter and I have been working together since 1993. He is one of the most respected and experienced sales directors in the market and brings a wealth of experience to our company. IncaGold is expanding its business rapidly and Peter is looking forward to helping make 2005 a very successful year. Everyone in the company is very pleased to have him on board.”

Peter Hofschröer adds, “I have followed IncaGold’s developments since its founding nearly a decade ago and consider its current plans to be one of the most innovative strategies I have seen in this industry for years. Not only will IncaGold be placing its large range of mass-market computer games in new channels, the company is forecasting clear profitability, a novelty in this industry. IncaGold is well positioned to enjoy substantial growth in the coming years and I am looking forward to playing a key part in its success.”

One of the latest of IncaGold’s 120 titles is Rebirth of Honor®, a World War II Combat Flight Simulator for the PC. Currently in development with Asylum Games and Tri Synergy Inc., the North American co-publishers and distributors, Rebirth of Honor® is a 3rd party campaign expansion for the award winning IL- Sturmovik Forgotten Battles®. Scheduled to ship Q1 of 2005, the game allows players to battle for supremacy in the historically accurate years of 1941 and early 1942 and an alternate-reality 1942 and beyond.
