Summary

A keen games player from the time he first saw a Pong machine, an addiction to Atari's Tempest lead Dyson to drop out of college and attempt to make a living as a Tempest hustler, challenging strangers to high stakes games at arcades throughout his native Yorkshire.

Later editor of Amiga Format and briefly managing editor of Future Publishing's Amiga titles, Dyson then left the world of paper publishing to become a Producer at Team17 Software. Between 1994 and 1997 he worked at Team17 on a number of titles, and it was here that he got bitten by the internet bug.

After a period working in web development management for DHL Worldwide Express, Dyson set up a web development company with a couple of former colleagues from Team17, Gareth Edwards and Gavin Dodds. This company, eleventeenth, has produced the web sites for industry newspaper MCV, and industry trade body ELSPA. They also develop press extranet technology for companies such as EA Mobile, THQ and Eidos and stock and sales reporting applications for Activision, THQ, Take 2 and others.
