Robbie Bach
Summary
Robbie Bach joined Microsoft in 1988, working within business operation for Microsoft Europe and as a marketing exec within the Desktop Applications, the division responsible for Microsoft Office suite. He took the role of Vice President of marketing within the division in 1996 and later, the same position within the Learning, Entertainment and Productivity Division.
In March 1999 he became Vice President Microsoft's Home and Retail Division and a year later moved to the company's Games Division, becoming Senior Vice President of the team that would ultimately produce the Xbox consoles.
During his tenure with the Xbox team, the Games Division has been renamed several times. Reflecting the shift in Microsoft's console and lifestyle strategy, Bach and Xbox have been part of the Home and Entertainment Division and, since the introduction of Zune, Entertainment and Devices Division.
In September 2005, he was named the division's President.
