GameCity Announces Art Prize Shortlist
The nominations are in for the GameCity Prize, an award hosted by Nottingham-based games expo GameCity that celebrates videogames for their cultural and arty approach to computer game design.

The games up for the prestigious awards are as follows: Atlus' Catherine, Polytron's Fez, Die Gute Fabrik's Johann Sebastien Joust, thatgamecompany's Journey, BioWare's Mass Effect 3, Ed Key and David Kanaga's Proteus and Nintendo's Super Mario 3D Land.

Judged by a panel of celebrities in the entertainment medium, the GameCity Prize shortlist was decided after thinking of a number of games that were "brilliant, interesting and meaningful". The panel includes BBC Radio DJ Jo Whiley, comedian Charlie Higson, Financial Times columnist Lucy Kellaway and UK designer Wayne Hemingway among others.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday 24 October. Which game would you like to win?
