Summary

Game, Set and Match! Everybody’s favourite plumber, Super Mario, has a lot of extra-curricular activities beyond his usual day job. A lot of them involve sports - and Mario Tennis in particular has been a rather successful activity for him. We do wonder how he’s able to be so active in those dungarees, though.

Mario Tennis Open on 3DS gives you a full console-like Mario Tennis experience right in the palm of your hand - and with eye-popping 3D effects to boot. Characters from the Mushroom Kingdom are yours to control and each have different skills, attributes and power-ups that can turn the tide in your favour.

As you would expect, Mario Tennis Open is far from your usual strawberry-eating affair. Crazy events can take place on the court, and enemies can appear to spoil your fun in the Super Mario Tennis mode. Mii characters can also be placed in the game, and you can build up a formidable collection of accessories. From Bowser’s racket to a Bullet Bill outfit, there’s something for everyone here.

Best of all, Mario Tennis Open sports competitive play between 3DS systems, be it via ad-hoc local connection or via Wi-Fi. Touch screen inputs, button controls and motion sensitivity add to the fun and wackiness that you’ll find within.
