Summary

Hold on to your headgear, things are about to get weird. We Happy Few's alternate-history 1960s England is a dark and trippy place. The well-to-do chuck 'joy' pills down their necks to maintain an ordered society, while the not-so-well-off 'downers' are forced to live in squalid conditions, eeking out a dank existence and teetering on the edge of madness.

You play as Arthur, a clerk who's gone off his pills and started seeing terrible glimpses of the world beneath the drug-fuelled haze he's been living in. Cast out among the downers, you must fight and craft to survive and maybe, just maybe, make your way to a better place. Gameplay is a mix of stealth, combat and crafting, but you'd better keep your eye on your survival meters because death is never far away.

This is a game that wears its influences on its sleeve, and it's a potent mix - BioShock, V for Vendetta, The Prisoner, Dishonored, Minecraft, STALKER, Brazil and 1984 all jump out. They make for a bleak, garish and downright creepy setting that really steals the show.

With different ways to attack your objectives and the aforementioned crafting elements, there are a lot of different ways to attack We Happy Few. Make no mistake, though, each and every one of them will lead you down a dark and twisted path.
