Summary

Adventure Time has always had its love of video games - and The Legend of Zelda in particular - right out on its sleeve. It makes sense, then, its latest foray into interactivity looks a bit like the beloved Zelda classic, Wind Waker.

For reasons it's up to you to find out, the Land of Ooo is underwater and everything is a bit of a mess. To tidy it up, you'll take to the high seas (formerly the not-so-high-lands) to explore, search for clues, interrogate shady sorts and fight a whole bunch of pirates.

Finn, Jake, BMO and Marceline are all playable, while the likes of Ice King, banana guards, penguins and inventory merchant Choose Goose can all be sighted. In fact, not only can they be sighted, they can be heard thanks to voice talent fresh from the recording booth of the TV show. Not that there's anything wrong with sighting them - with lovingly rendered cel shaded graphics you'll feel like you walked straight into the cartoon.

And while, yes, licensed games do sometimes get a bad rap, developer Climax Games was the talent behind the much-loved Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It's safe to say they're going for a lighter tone here, but you can rest assured that Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion is in safe hands.
