Summary

Capcom just can't seem to get rid of Frank West. Despite the publisher trying several Dead Rising games without him, he just keeps on showing up in DLC and remasters. Now, like a boomerang that just won't stay gone, here he is starring in his own sequel once again, ready and willing to bash the brains out of a ridiculous number of zombies. It's good news, because he's always been one of the strengths of the series. Middle-aged, not in particularly good shape and a bit of a self-destructive loser, he's a refreshing change from your average video game hero.

He's back in the town of Willamette which is, once again, overun by the living dead. With the place positively swarming with walking corpses, you've got a lot to do to clear the place out. As ever, you'll want to do it as imaginatively as possible. The town (including its iconic mall) are riddled with weapons, but the real juice comes when you gather blueprints that show you how to combine them and create ever more outlandish ways to despatch your enemies. Start with a hand grenade tied to a hammer, work your way up to an acid-vomiting tyrannosaurus rex mask or a light sabre and you're probably doing it right.

The big new addition is the inclusion of exo suits. Littered around the game's sandbox environment, these overpowered tools of destruction are basically mech suits that offer you all-new ways to obliterate zombies, tear up the environment and use nearby items from street signs to a minigun to keep the action going.
