Farpoint might just be the blockbuster game that owners of PlayStation VR have been waiting for. A rich adventure taking place on the surface of an alien - and deadly - world, it offers first person shooter mechanics with coupled with complete virtual reality immersion, making for one of the deepest and most adrenaline fueled VR experiences to date.
In Farpoint you're not supposed to be on the surface of an alien world. You're certainly not supposed to be fighting for your life using basic equipment against a range of nasty extraterrestrial creatures out for blood.
You're supposed to be on a space station, out to record an anomalous wave of radiation that seems to have no source. But when things go wrong and your space station is knocked out of orbit, you find yourself doing all sorts of things that you're not supposed to. Setting foot on a virgin alien world could be the scientific opportunity of a lifetime, but the native fauna certainly don't want to cooperate, and the mystery of what left built structures on the surface before you arrived becomes a matter of life or death.
Farpoint is the first game to make use of the aim controller, a piece of kit that can uses the PlayStation Camera and motion tracking to take you even deeper into the game.
How deep you want to go into the fearsome world of Farpoint is, however, up to you...
