Summary
Naruto has just become even more accessible to any- and everyone. Developed by Inti Creates, with support and input from Naruto veterans CyberConnect2, Naruto Powerful Shippuden is based on the animated show Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals. While the game's most certainly Naruto all the way, it takes a more comical look at the source material and offers up gameplay that's easier to jump into for novices.
The sidescrolling action game enables players to take on the role of either whisker-faced Naruto Uzumaki or bushy-eyebrowed Rock Lee in missions based directly on their cartoon exploits. Players can earn experience points to power up their characters and attacks and use the touch screen to power up special attacks. The emphasis is on pick up and play gameplay, and even beginners will soon be pulling off dazzling moves.
As well as story mode, there's an endless battle mode so players can just go for it without having to worry about pesky things like mission objectives.
Following in the series's footsteps, everything's presented in an over-the-top, caricatured style that kids are sure to love. For anyone who has been looking for a way to make the leap from the Naruto manga and anime into the world of video games, Naruto Powerful Shippuden is ideal.
