In Assault Horizon you take the role of Lieutenant Colonel William Bishop who leads a squadron of NATO peace-keepers in a 2015 conflict against an insurgent force in East Africa. Shortly after you arrive in Africa, a helicopter force is blasted from the sky by a new super-weapon that the rebel forces have managed to develop.
The race is on the take control of the new weapon and prevent the conflict from spreading to the rest of Africa and maybe the rest of the world. To do this you will have to participate in many different styles of missions, including fighter combat, bombing runs, helicopter assaults and even missions where you leave the skies and use land-based vehicles.
The major new game play feature is Close-Range Assault, which is your everyday, average Top Gun style dogfight. Up close and personal with guns is sometimes the only way to take down an enemy and it's much more intense than just firing missiles at dots on the horizon.
There is also a new multiplayer game mode called Capital Conquest that enables teams of 8 to battle it out over the skies of world capitals with a large array of different vehicles fighting together.
This Enhanced Edition brings PC gamers the added benefit of extra goodies such as eight aircraft, two maps, 27 aircraft skins and nine skills upgrades!
