Summary

Sports Connection comes to the Wii U as a way to get all the family to play together - or for a really competitive single member of the family to compete with themself until they win every single event, setting records as they go.

The game comes with six sports: Tennis, Soccer, American Football aka Grid Iron, Golf and Go-Karting.

Each of the sports is simulated uniquely and specifically for the new control methods and screens of the Wii U console. For example, the games each take full advantage of Nintendo’s new controller’s Touch controls. However, people who also own the Wii MotionPlus can make use of that controller as well for full gesture control.

For example, gamers can compete using real sports gestures such as baseball swings and golf strokes with driver and putter.

Using a combination of both the TV and the new controller, multiplayer games can include up to five players (four doing split-screen on your TV plus the new controller). The new controller is also active in main and mini-games. For example, in baseball the pitcher can use the tablet screen to throw a ball and curve it at another player who uses the Wiimote as the bat.

Gamers can also play online with other Wii U owners, competing for leader board supremacy.
