Summary

Ape Escape was one of those beloved PlayStation games that was crying out for some sort of an update. And now it has one straight from Sony’s Japan Studio and complete with Move support.

The new version also sees space chimps coming to earth with no good intent at all – they want our bananas. Of course, the player has one role: to save the earth by catching the little simian scamps. All of this is played out in sparkling new HD graphics from the PS3 in 15 different and unique stages until they confront the ultimate leader of the ape crew: Specter.

The PlayStation Move motion controller is used widely in the game as it can be changed into a wide variety of different devices that the gamer must use in order to capture the primates. These gadgets include the Monkey Net, the Slingshot and the Smasher as well as the Banana Zapper and the Ape Vacuum.

These tools can be used in a pair of gameplay styles: Chase battles or Capture battles. As you would expect, the first sees the player tracking down chimps, while the second has the gamer trapping the little devils.

Also included in the new Ape Escape is a collection of mini-games - each of the three mini-games us unlocked during the main story mode. Along with the mini-games is the Goodies section that can be used for training and familiarization. And there is also the online Monkeypedia, where connected gamers can explore facts about more than the 500 different monkeys available to capture.
