Summary
Remember all those little action figure toys you used to collect as a kid? Each superhero had different actions, and if you collected them all, you could unlock... well, envy from your playground buddies. Activision remembers those days, and intends to bring them back with a little twist of interactivity.
This is the world of the Skylanders, and at the top of the list of these fantastical heroes is cartoon gaming veteran Spyro the Dragon. In this colourful action platformer, you play as the Portal Master, who can control over 30 different characters using the power harnessed within their real-life toy figurine.
Place a figure on the included Portal of Power to connect it directly to the game, and play through with unique abilities and powers. As you complete stages, your scores and progress are saved within a brain thats included within the toy - meaning that when you pick it up and bring it to a friends house, your stats and powers are seamlessly carried over into a totally different game.
You can engage in drop-in, drop-out co-operative play with your buddies at any time, leaving you to instantly switch characters at a crucial point in a stage to turn the tables and kick off some brave new strategies. With all kinds of different elements to each character, and a wealth of secrets to unlock using each one, Skylanders looks set to revive the old playground tradition of trading figures and bring it to the 21st Century.
