Summary

Need for Speed: Shift is back for a second lap, after bringing the thrill of professional motor racing to gamers in 2009. In Unleashed, developer Slightly Mad Studios builds on this simulation experience with a more visceral presentation style, new features and an improved online interface that is founded on social networking.

As well as an all-new rendering engine, Shift 2: Unleashed introduces the driver’s battle, which is an increased feeling of power and speed which results in a more authentic experience whilst driving. Particularly in first-person cockpit view, where you get to see how your driver will respond to various dangers and disasters on the track. What was once a simple race turns into an edge-of-the-seat struggle for supremacy against rival drivers.

A lot of work has gone into creating the most intense experience yet, and this is no more evident than in the aforementioned helmet camera view, and the authentic track and car degradation as you race for pole position. In addition to the no-doubt exciting single-player options, Shift 2: Unleashed also includes the latest version of Electronic Arts’ Need for Speed Autolog - a social network that allows friends to find one another online with ease and engage in racing challenges.
