Summary

Earth Defence Force: Insect Armageddon from Vicious Cycle Software (Ben 10: Alien Force) and Namco Bandai sees human civilization having to defend itself against hordes of gigantic insects. Thankfully the elite Earth Defence Force is on hand to take the battle to the bugs.

The all-new game builds on the Earth Defense Force 2017 universe (aka the Japanese “Earth Defense Force 3”) continuing and building on the cult success.

The game features a campaign mode wherein up to three players can team up online to battle against the invading hordes of insects and aliens within the confines of a completely destructible city called New Detroit. However, to fight you need an Earth Defence Force in top condition and armed to the teeth. This means cashing in points earned in battle to spend on more than 150 unique weapons and four upgradeable armour sets.

Alongside the Campaign mode there is also a six-player Survival mode where gamers must battle the biggest bugs on there are in wave after wave in New Detroit. Multiplayer can be played online or on local split-screen.

The game can also be played in single-player mode with the gamer taking the role of Lightning Alpha. With more than 300 weapons to choose from and unlock (which doubles the amount available in Earth Defence Force 2017) and four armour classes (Trooper, Jet, Tactical and Battle Armor) there are lots of options.
