Summary
The Gothic series has always been one that lives up to its name, offering dark and twisted fantasy worlds full of mysterious demons and monstrous creatures to sink your sword into. In this fourth instalment, the focus is on the kingdom of Myrtana, a land troubled by the slowly darkening mind of King Rhobar III.
Since defeating the orc army and restoring peace to the land, the King has expanded his reign across various other territories. One day, he returns from a journey overseas and his attitude completely changes. No longer the proud, noble warrior he once was, he simply stares into the distance and slowly breaks all ties with his longtime companions.
Incidentally, this all starts happening around the same time that other lands start to weather and darken, and the orc army begins to rise once again. As you explore the game world, different climates and nearby wildlife and plantlife can influence the land around you, and can even provide assistance in combat.
