Summary

Karaoke used to be a thing that you'd get involved in with your mates during a night on the town, after having enough drinks to believe you sounded like Celine Dion. These days, it's an indoor occasion, as friends and family plan nights in to butcher pop classics in the comfort of their own homes.

Karaoke Revolution is the latest of these singing games to hit home consoles, and with Konami's track record with rhythm music games you can be assured that this won't be your ordinary karaoke party.

For a start, you can pull together up to 16 players to tackle each song in an ongoing karaoke tournament for fame and glory (of your living room). 50 licensed tracks means there's enough artists and genres to cover just about anyone's tastes, with various unlockable rewards for performing well in game.

If you're a bit of a Billy No-Mates and the 16-player Party mode isn't going to happen, then you can croon your sorrow blues in the solo Career Mode, which also comes with a character creator to define exactly what you think a pop star looks like. As you travel on your journey from busking bum (not really) to superstar voice of a generation, you get to play in increasingly more elaborate venues with special effects and themes to play with.
