Summary
Guitar Hero On Tour is the portable version of the console classic rock game, Guitar Hero customised especially for the Nintendo DS. Plectrum control is via the stylus and touch screen.
This third incarnation of Guitar Hero On Tour plays much like the previous two games, but selects its 28 tracks exclusively from the last five years of music. This means that you'll get to play along with songs from Angels and Airwaves, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Kaiser Chiefs, Sum 41, Duke Spirit, and Wolfmother, among others. And there are two new characters for you to rock out with, and five new venues in which to do it. As you attract fans, they will give you fretboard challenges. Complete these Fan Challenges to impress existing fans and gain new ones.
Single players can take part in Career and Quickplay modes. Career mode sees you progressing through the game, gaining access to new songs, clothes and venues as you do so. Quickplay dispenses with all the progression and lets you dive directly into any song you like.
Two players can compete head-to-head in Face Off mode on specially designed tracks - with each player able to select their difficulty level independently. Pro Face Off sets the same challenge, but both players must play on the same difficulty level. Co-operative play lets one player take Lead guitar while their partner plays bass or rhythm.
For the ultimate two-player battle, there's Guitar Duel which is fraught with handicaps and challenging mini-games such as Broken String, Pyrotechnics and Amp Overload. Guitat Hero on Tour: Modern Hits is the greatest DS Guitar Hero yet released, and players who own the either of the previous two games can strum, shred and thrash along to a up to a total of 80 songs using local wireless play. << less
