This is not the first time GI Joe has been immortalised in a video game, there have been several since Cobra Strike on the Atari 2600 in 1983. But the latest incarnations of both game and movie are sure to be the biggest budget and most impressive outings to date. The movie is touted a cross between X-Men, Transformers and Mission Impossible. The game takes place in the movie's universe, but it does not follow the movie's plot and is set after the movie chronologically. We're told that the story of the game does not give away any secrets about the conclusion of the movie.
In the game, players take control of characters from the GI Joe universe including Duke, Heavy Duty, Scarlett, Shipwreck or Snake-Eyes in order to combat Cobra. In the old school, top-down action game, players can use a range of weapons, vehicles and characters to combat Cobra. Each character has a signature weapon and set of skills, whether it's close quarters combat, weapons or long range attacks. << less
