Summary

Buzz! The Schools Quiz is the ultimate gameshow for the kids, jam-packed with over 5,000 National Curriculum questions for Key Stage 2 pupils. All the core school subjects for Years 3 thru 6 are included: Geography, Maths, History, Science, English, Modern Foreign Languages and Religious Education. There are plenty of gameplay options on offer, for solo players or up to eight participants.

If you're flying solo and fancy a quick two-round blast of trivia on your lonesome, Single Player is the option to choose. Time Builder invites you to correctly answer questions to build up the amount of time that you will have to gain points in the Hotseat round. Speaking of which, Hotseat is the final Single Player round where you use the time that you accumulated in the Time Builder round to answer taxing questions and bank as many points as you can. Be careful though - answer a question wrongly and you will lose any points that you have yet to bank. Buzz! Mode has lovely assistant Rose on hand to expertly explain each round's rules, as you and your friends will quickly get the hang of the glitzy game show's sophisticated structure. The first thing you should know about Buzz! Mode is that it's not a solo venture - it's for between two and four players only. Finally, choosing to play the Points Game enables players to see who can get most points on the board.

More multiplayer modes include Fastest Finger, Pie Fight, Fact or Fiction, General Knowledge, Top Rank and The Final Countdown. The latter is where the points you have amassed during the previous rounds will be converted into bars of time. As the questions come thick and fast, correct answers halt the diminishing bars and the countdown. If you're really quick with a correct answer, you can earn a time bonus, but if you jump in with a wrong answer, you stand to lose even more time. The object of the game is, of course, to be the last man standing.

This is the best Buzz! in a while - definitely smarter than a ten year-old!
