MinDStorm, yet another entry in the hugely popular brain training genre, includes ten types of challenges for folks wishing to sharpen their minds, all of which are so easy to pick up and play using the DS stylus, touchscreen and microphone. Each challenge is designed to focus on enhancing the player's observation, reasoning, endurance, analysis and intuition. It's well proven already - by scientists! - that playing this type of 'game' results in better brain function along with a more powerful memory.

A first for the brain training genre, MinDStorm throws additional challenges and problems into the mix. Players are rewarded with ever more complex riddles as they progress in the main training mode. General knowledge and geography-based challenges are also included to even up the fun aspect: some of the more abstract trials could possibly frazzle one's brain, and that's not the aim of the game at all.

Further innovation is found in the way the game will adapt the tasks it asks players to perform according to the local environment it is being played in. Cleverly enough, MinDStorm can tell when you're on the move and can adapt the tasks it chooses for you accordingly. In transit on a rough road? MinDStorm will omit the tasks that require precise stylus action. When playing in a place where it's not prudent to make unwarranted noise, MinDStorm will spare players the need to use the Nintendo DS microphone. It's an innovative title and competitively priced too. MinDStorm is definitely worth more than a cursory glance. Get involved and get brainy, why don't you? << less
