Hospital Tycoon is a light-hearted take on the management simulation genre in which the only folks suffering more than the patients are the hospital staff! Developer Deep Red's sim must be applauded for not taking things too seriously and giving even the most hopeless herbert the chance to play doctors and nurses. Players (or herberts) are charged with running, maintaining, and expanding the hospital facilities, so in this sense, it's pretty much a serious management game. The fun comes in when you encounter the characters which staff the hospital and the patients and their accompanying ailments and diseases they have to treat.

Of course, to treat everyone who comes through the doors in a proper manner is not an easy task. The more you can satisfy your patients' needs and come up with a cure for their ills, the more your hospital can flourish. If a man accosts you in the corridor and complains of having Monkey Nuts, don't burst out laughing - offer him some kind of remedy. Bizarre conditions usually require strange treatments, so be prepared for the unusual. That's what makes Hospital Tycoon such a refreshing change: a management sim with a crooked smile on its face. << less
