In Battlefield 2142, the dawn of a new ice age has placed the world on red alert. Most of the soil is covered by ice, and what isn't can only feed a fraction of the Earth's population. Therefore, the majority of the population will eventually die.

Gamers must choose to fight for one of two military superpowers - the newly formed Pan-Asian Coalition or the European Union - in what will be a monumental battle for survival. Players will be delighted to know that they will be armed with an arsenal of hi-tech weaponry that would make Robocop proud, including assault rifles, sentry guns and cloaking devices. There will also be the opportunity to drive some of the most lethal vehicles known to man. Huge Battle Walkers engage in fierce combat on the ground, while futuristic aircraft rule the skies. When taking on the Battle Walkers and futuristic aircraft, players must stay extremely alert and use the arsenal of hi-tech countermeasures like smart mines and EMP grenades to their advantage.

Up to 64 players can enjoy the epic online gameplay. Gamers will be dropped on the frontlines, straight into the action as part of a formal squad, or behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of the other members of their team.
