Summary

For the first time ever, players can actually become a Pokémon. The game takes place in a world where there are no humans - only Pokémon. You awake in the middle of a forest to find that you have turned into one of the little monsters. The surrounding land is being ravaged by various natural disasters, so you decide to form a rescue team with another Pokémon (from a selection of 10 different characters) to help other Pokémon that are in trouble. There are countless different Pokémon to interact with, including Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu and Bulbasaur on various different missions of increasing difficulty.

To progress through the game, you and your friend must search countless dungeons and strategically make your way through many dangerous floors. The layout of each dungeon is randomly generated; therefore, each dungeon will present a totally different challenge. To successfully clear the dungeons and complete each mission, you must think both concisely and strategically. To help on your quest, there are many special powers, weapons, moves and features that can be found throughout the game.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS, you must converse with numerous other Pokémon throughout the game, in order to gain important information. The graphics are smartly-rendered, with each character having their own facial expressions.

The game is certainly not aimed at the 20+ demographic, unless you're a Pokémon fanatic. It is definitely one for the kids, and a very suitable one at that.
