Start your engines and hold on tight 'cos it's Piston Cup season again. Lightning McQueen soon discovers that the new season brings the return of an old nemesis, Chick Hicks. In Cars for the DS, you have to help guide Lightning and his radiator Springs friends through a series of high octane mini-games to ultimately compete in the Piston Cup.

You can play as Lightning and defeat Chick in four different Cup races to win once and for all. Each subsequent Piston Cup race features additional laps and pit stops for the ultimate in competitiveness. New races are unlocked after the completion of three consecutive mini-games, such as Casa Luigi's Casa Della Tyres, in which you have to watch out for the wind as you stack a column of tyres; World's Best Backwards Driver, where you literally reach for the stars; and Tractor Tippin', a variation on the peculiar pastime of cow-tipping. There is a whole load of mini-games to get involved in as well as the Story and Arcade modes. Suffice to say, it doesn't get old, and that's because the game has been made with such a lot of affection for its characters.

Cars for the DS is just as much of a feel-good game as its bigger console brethren, the advantage with this version being that you can take it with you. So start the car! << less
