Summary

An RPG, RTS and sports game all in a single adventure? We're sure you'll agree such a venture would be ambitious for any developer, but there is one studio that has managed to pull it off, and that's Cyanide with Chaos League for PC.

At a fundamental level, Chaos league is simply a ball game, whereby a team of nine players is charged with shooting a goal into the opposing team's "end-zone". However, life as a Chaos League player is complicated by strategic and even RPG-like elements. Where in the real world players are armed only with their fists and feet, in this particularly brutal fantasy sport, spells and special skills are the weapons of choice.

On the pitch, as in the changing-rooms, there are no rules. Let yourself be carried away on the gentle airs of doping, corruption and hooliganism even before a match gets under way. Once on the pitch, if the ball doesn't really interest you, then carry on destroying the opposition using all the underhand tricks at your disposal.

Massacring the opposition with dark magic is encouraged, but you'll have to use far more subtle tactics to have a chance at winning a match. You'll have to manage the individual talents of each of your players and take into account the mood of the spectators to finally be able to get a few points on the scoreboard.

Chaos League is unarguably unique, and is a successful offering from developer Cyanide.
