Summary

Following the highly successful debut of Dinotopia on TV, TDK Mediactive has secured the license to publish an all-new Game Boy Advance platformer, developed by French studio RFX Interactive.

In an effort to secure a magical Timestone hidden deep within Tyrannosaurus territory, a band of marauding pirates stole precious eggs to lure the fierce dinosaur parents away from their nesting grounds. Clayton, young pilot and hunter of ancient artefacts, must collect the eggs and return them to their nests before the Tyrannosaur herd loses patience and invades peaceful Dinotopia. Battling hostile pirates and depending on friendly dinosaurs and intricate mechanical marvels to transport him over land, sea and air, Clayton must uncover the legendary Timestone before it falls into the wrong hands.

Venturing into five beautifully crafted 2D locales, including Waterfall City, Treetown and the Diamond Caverns, Dinotopia is a simple platform experience that challenges players to navigate hostile environments, defend against oncoming enemies and negotiate dozens of platforms and gaping chasms.

Much of the game takes place on foot, but there are also several unique levels that will have you piloting a Pterodactyl, navigating submarines and riding Hadrosaurs. As you progress, you will stumble across several collectibles that can be used to increase health, and unleash devastating attacks. Some are not so easy to find, but you should take the time to explore each area thoroughly - doing so will make your adventure less tasking.

Dinotopia is a quirky little platformer that, despite its lack of genuine innovation in the genre, offers a clean, fun gaming experience.
