Based loosely on the hit film Episode 1, Starfighter puts you at the controls to test your piloting skills. Help the people of Naboo break free of the control of the Trade Federation. Starfighter is quick, and the pace of the game could easily leave you catching your breath. There are over 20 controllable vehicles to master and each has its own individual characteristics. Gameplay revolves around meeting objectives that vary from one difficulty level to the next.
A mission might involve providing an armoured escort to Her Majesty's command ship. Bonus missions can be unlocked by performing above and beyond the call of duty. For example, making sure the ship reaches its destination will complete the mission, but if you prevent it from taking any damage whatsoever, you will unlock one of the elusive extra missions.
Starfighter has an intriguing storyline that sucks you in and its so easy to get lost in the sheer complexity of the game. This is a game you can get deep into, and provides a welcome challenge. A well thought out learning curve prevents the game from being too difficult to understand without players having developed the necessary skills to deal with situations. Training missions help get to grips with controls and help with the trickiness of orientation when flying upside down.
Star Wars: Starfighter is fluid to play and easy on the eye. Even if you only remotely like shooting games, play this.
