ECW is a fantastically enjoyable wrestling game. To start with there are over 60 professional wresters from the ECW ranks to pick from. Each character has its own catchphrases, special moves and signature moves. Learning all of the moves would take almost forever, but you can bring down a list from the pause screen. If 60 characters arent enough for you, you can create your wrestler and set them up exactly as you like.
One of ECWs strengths is how customisable the game is. The number of possible configuration set-ups must runs into the thousands. Championship battles, cage fights, last man standing, tag-teams, and you can even change the colour of the ring. Everything you could possibly want and more! You can even opt for a table match where you throw your opponent through tables, ouch. Tag-teams are extremely fun; with up to four people playing simultaneously you never know whats going to happen next.
Graphically, ECW on the Dreamcast looks a lot cleaner than its PlayStation cousin. The resolution as been doubled which gives an overall cleaner look to the visuals. The frame rate is a smooth as it gets and never slows down regardless of how many characters are in the ring at the same time or how much action is occurring at once.
The control method has been tweaked and the commentary is done by a two-man team for a tele-visual style presentation. Overall, ECW Anarchy Rulz is a playable, in-depth wrestling simulation, ideal for fans of the beat-em-up genre.
