A hugely popular platformer from 1996, Crash Bandicoot has been an enduring success story, thanks to the omnipresence of the PlayStation, or perhaps due to the fact that its a great game. Its likely that both together are responsible for the success of the games in the series. After diving into the racing genre, Crash is now set to make his way into the party genre with a Bishi Bashi Special-style game called Crash Bash.
As a party game, Crash Bash essentially consists of a large number of mini-games that must be successfully completed to progress. Game modes include battle and tournament, but in adventure mode a small story line has been included, a sensible inclusion for the solo player. However, multiplayer action is where Crash Bash shines through, showing the addictive qualities of the game. Multi-player levels can be played with four players simultaneously, with some levels incorporating a co-operative mode of play. Not all featured games will be available to begin with, since you must party your way through some of the adventure and tournament modes to unlock further mini-games and secrets of the game.
The party game is rapidly becoming one of the most popular genres, especially among casual gamers. With the addition of Crash Bash to the family, its not hard to see why.
