Summary

The Loony Tunes franchise is set to make yet another appearance in the video game industry with the release of the sequel to the highly popular Martian Alert, Martian Revenge, otherwise known as Martian Alert 2. Because of the ongoing development of the GameBoy Color, software houses have been able to get to grips with the ten-year-old handheld, and the results are shown in a number of games, including Martian Revenge. MR is fully compatible with Martian Alert, and also incorporates an addictive 2-player link-up mode.

The game as a complete title is essentially a simple 2D platformer with a top-down point of view; a friendly, but immanent return to a retro style of gameplay. Initially, you will take control of Marvin the Martian in a mission to get revenge on all the Loony Tunes characters down on earth. As you progress through the game you will be given the ability to collect and play as up to 49 of the classic cartoon animations. Each have their own unique capabilities which must be continually used throughout the adventure if you are to proceed.

There are also six link-up games that will ultimately prove to be as addictive as any other title on the high streets shelves. As a finished game, Martian Revenge is as complete as they come, and is actually quite large for a GameBoy Color title. With plenty of longevity, a rare feature for the handheld, Martian Revenge should be a hit this Christmas; at least with public transport.
