Summary

The history of the action movie is a long one, to say the least. From Sylvester Stallone to Arnold Schwarzenegger, this incredible movie genre has had its fair share of heroic outgoings. The history of the action movie is a long one, to say the least. From Sylvester Stallone to Arnold Schwarzenegger, this incredible movie genre has had its fair share of heroic outgoings. Video game productions based around Hollywood features are usually nothing to shout about. Metal Gear Solid, however, while still having an action hero theme, is an original Konami franchise that has proved to be hugely popular across the globe.

After the huge success of the PlayStation sequel, Konami’s forthcoming PC release of the multi-million selling title is set to be the most advanced title in the series yet, before the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 2. Graphical enhancements will be instantly apparent to those of you familiar with the original version, providing you have a reasonable graphics accelerator. Also, specific to PC, the option of a first-person perspective has been included in the package, and should appeal to fans of Half-Life and Quake 3.

Metal Gear Solid is primarily a game of stealth; a fairly new innovation in the world of video games, and should be welcomed on the market for as long as it is in development. Keep it up, Konami.
