Bringing a level of excitement to this mostly sedate sport might have been too much of a challenge, but not for Electronic Arts. Never really understood what all the fuss was about in PC cricket? The best way to find out is to play Cricket 2000.
Cricket 2000 has an official licence tagged to it, and therefore has all the official players and statistics involved in the 2000 season. For many cricket fans out there, this will be the buying point.
However, there is more to Cricket 2000 than statistics, this title actually plays very well. Controls are used via mouse and keyboard, but it isn’t as complicated as it sounds. If you’re batting, aim the ball's bouncing point with your mouse, and judge the speed at which to throw by clicking to stop the power meter. It’s surprisingly simple, and if you're an armchair cricket fan, then this is the title for you.
