Summary

Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding game for the Nintendo 64 is one of the best games available for the system. No longer will rainy days seem so bad as now you can skate indoors. Skateboarding is a cool sport and translates well to the N64. The Playstation version has been extremely successful and one of the reasons for this was its originality. Not only do you get pick from several professional skaters but you can make them do practically anything you desire. The way they can interact with the 3D environments is beyond belief. Initially tricky at first, practice equals point and soon you’ll be impressing your friends with some style.

The scoring system means that if you keep doing the same trick over and over, the amount of points you score decreases. Variety is the spice of Tony Hawk and different lines and sections of the level and combos are the way to go. The two-player mode is wicked with graffiti, trick attack and horse games. Each game involves getting the most amount of points in two minutes by pulling off the best moves and using a few underhand techniques.

To be really good at Tony Hawk you need to learn how to combine your tricks. Each character has their own special move that can only be done after you’ve been skating smoothly for a while. Put these into a combination, twist like a madman, pray and the three gold medals can be yours. Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding is one refreshingly different and enjoyable game.
