Get your friends together because Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 is a four-player fighting frenzy. Incorporating nearly all of your favourite Nintendo characters including Mario and the extremely popular Pokemon Pikachu. This is one beat-em-up that is unique in its approach and as a result it feels fresh to play. You can interact with the backgrounds to find a more strategic approach to the action or just run away when things are getting tricky. Each character uses his signature moves to build up his opponents damage meter. When the damage meter is high enough you can use a finishing blow to send them flying off the stage. The player with the most knockouts at the end of the round is the champion.

Super Smash Bros. is also enjoyable as a one-player game. You battle your way through various computer controlled characters and bonus stages as you attempt to reach the final boss. Luckily there is a training mode to accustom you to the game characters and moves. This will come in handy when trying for your personal high score or practising for the multi-player game. With secret characters and levels to unlock there is plenty here to keep you coming back for more. Super Smash Bros. is an original and fun fighting game suited to party time.
