In this title you will have to develop an undercover strategy and stick closely to the shadows.
If you decide take the training option, Thief will gently lift you into the gameplay. You will learn how to be covert. Sticking to the dark areas of the screen to avoid detection is most important. You have a gauge that determines how visible you are, so keep this empty as much as possible. Your footsteps make different noises if you running or moving over noisy surfaces. You will also learn various skills like the art of sword fighting, archery, and how to interact with your environment. You can even pickpocket keys off guards to aid your burglary attempts.
Once you learn the control method Thief is a great game to play. The missions are varied and accomplishing them is hard, but rewarding. Its so nice where to have a first person shooter where you have to think instead of shooting. If you like stealth games, Thief is one of the better examples.
