Because the home page is the most hit page, we cache the summary and update it periodically, rather than whenever a post is made. I think this could be why it looks like it's wrong - what you're seeing is a snapshot of the latest posts when it was last updated, which may not be the current standing

nope thats not it...at times I'll load the page and get a "correct" and up-to-date In The Forums, then coming back to the front page a bit later I'll get one that appears older, or perhaps is up-do-date but omits all topics in the News Commentary section.

Also, the Alone In the Dark skin doesn't play well with the newish posts-under-the-article feature thingy...appears to be white text on white background. Would still like to see a basic black skin.

For instance, this is the one I just got...note the absence of any News items:

Last item on that list was posted on Friday...also missing is this thread, which had appeared on the front page (along with the News Commentary threads) when I loaded it perhaps a half-hour ago...curious, no? rather than an old, cached list, it looks like a list that would be correct if News Commentary and Forums threads were excluded.

Its an intermittent and highly annoying problem...

A few days ago I dropped in a rewritten forum posts module. Frankly the original was all over the place! It was written 5 years ago, I guess :\

Anyway, I've not noticed any weirdness in it losing the news posts. Hopefully you won't have either, but it you do be sure to let me know!
