The last sentence sounds very much like the scene at the Eurogamer Expo this year, especially compared to last year. In total there were... Rare, Crytek, Ubisoft and Sega. Almost 50-75% from last year just didn't return, either due to the quality of the show not being great last year, or that they're just not in a position to take people on anymore due to the state of the country at the moment.

By the time the UK government does wake up, it will be too late. The upcoming changing of the government guard will see to that. They've already been vague on the tax breaks many fought hard to get, which means they can just as easily disappear in a year or two, if not sooner.
