think people do see the value of the machine, the Blu-Ray and network services and take that all into consideration instead of just focusing on price.

ok lets focus on price sony what we can get for £299.99
i could get a wii for £179.99 + a SHARP BDHP21H Blu Ray Player for £99.00 = 279.99 making it £20 cheaper

or i could get a xbox 360 arcade with sega super star tennis and indiana jones + kung fu panda with second controller for £149.99 plus SHARP BDHP21H Blu Ray Player for £99.00 = £248.99 =£51 cheaper

i could get a
Xbox 360 60GB Premium Pack + Burnout Paradise, Trivial Pursuit, SEGA Superstars, PGR 4 + Controller for £199.99 + the SHARP BDHP21H Blu Ray Player for £99.00 = £298.99

come on sony get out of the clouds bluray players have come down in price consoles have come down in price ( excluding the wii) OH and you

LOL headcasephil,

your computation for value missed a lot of things - this value computation has been out there for a long time - no need for me to delve into it.

but obviously yours is a typical response from a fanboy - you know who?

Ok ok - don't reply saying "I have all the 3 consoles" because I read that a lot from forums - same old story!

yes i no it has missed out a load of things but look at it thi way if say a person was to go in to buy a console most people will try to sell em a 360 why because it looks good value for money compared to the 360 yes ok so the fact that i got to get gold live to play online and a play and charge kit so i do not wast money on battery's but that's not the way that the 360 is sold.
i would say that about 95% of people that wanted a ps3 have got a one now or have got a 360 instead sony need to be looking at the people that jusg want some thing that is played now and again ( casual games) and hay they are the type of people that do not want to spend £300 on a console that only gets played once in a blue moon they are more likely to spend that amount of money of a dell laptop/desktop

Sony have always suffered from this lofty ideal, that their tech is worth the money. WHile I agree Sony make great kit, including PS3, their pissing about is hurting those developers that bothered to delve into expensive PS3 development.

Damn, if Activision, the biggest publisher next to EA, is having trouble with PS3 development, and saying they might bail, Sony should act swiftly and drop that price. Not doing so shows that they only really give a damn about number one, when it suits them. To hell with second/third parties.

Sure, I'd like a PS3, but at that price in these economic times, I'd probably have to bribe one to come home with me. Lol.
