The Zune is in the USA only so I guess the added funtionality will be for that region only.
I find it strange that an MP3 player is restricted to only the USA but considering how much dominence iPod has in the world why Microsoft even bothered is beyond me. Sony couldn't and still cant compete against the iPod brand with their MP3 players and they were big back in the old days with the walkman.

Direct music downloads for Xbox would be cool. But calling the ability to play MP3s "Zune Functionality" is a bit disingenuous. And as SS4 says, hitching it to the Zune would limit it to the USA.

I remember being in the USA on Christmas Eve 2006. In Best Buy there was a huge pile of Zunes. People were standing right by it, asking the staff if they had any iPods. When they were told iPods were all sold out - and they were, everyewhere, the shoppers ran out of the store to continue their fated search for an iPod. It was funny. I am fairly sure Microsoft could not have given the Zune away.
