What a cop out from nintendo, yeah next year Nintendo bring syou the hardcore from 3rd party devs, where the hell is Nintendo hardcore offering, wheres Mazza, Zelda, Metroid (good one), wheres the almost promise of pilot wings?

maybe Wii music will hit home as its the first Ninty title to flop in a long long time, maybe they can see taht the "casuals" are good but the real gamers are bored of nintendos bollox. i stood there and defended the Wii before launch i gave them a chance and then i got stiffed with animal crossing remakes and gamecube to Wii titles even zelda isnt this gen its a cube title.

SS4 if you want to have a go at onyone this gen have a go at Nintendo, at least MS and Sony are offering real games along with the casual markets shovelware.

There one thing wrong with this post and i'll show by asking this. Define "real game". I'll help with that...using any kind of qualitative property only will show the impossiblity to define it because those will all be based on subjectivity. I mean, i call halo and gears of war casual because real shooter fans play TFC and Tribes. Am i right? no offcourse not.

Also, Wiimusic is actually a genius game. What other game gives you the possibility to make a techno remix of chariots of fire including a harp, flute and sitar...really which one?

Sure the game isn't selling good now, but you only say that because your memory resembles swiss chees with extra holes. The DS and Wii have proven many many times that its games sell great over the long haul. Those games started really selling a couple of months after their release. Hell, even New Super Mario Brothers sold the most in the year after it was released. Stating something bombed because it didn't sell s**tload of copies in the first month only show the very aniquated state of the pseudo-hardcore thinking.

Also, this very sour atmosphere actually came into the making after the releases of Brawl and Mario Kart (which was this year, remember?) and Ninty's bad E3 showing. The america-centered journalism weant into berserk mode and completely overlooked anything good that is coming for the Wii this end of year period. Sure none of them are "high-profile marketed from the wazooh" games, but they sure are unique compared to the generic hollywood summerblockbuster like cookiecutter games the other ones are getting (barring LBP, Braid and Potatapon2 or something if this is coming out this year and a few more). My friend, who owns all consoles hasn't bought a single game this half year for any of them. Part because he's addicted to WoW and part because he doesn't like to play shooter games on a console.

I got Wiimusic, Tales of Symphonia 2, Trauma Center: New Blood and considering Disaster on my list (next to a couple of PC-games). but then you also got Deadly Creatures, Monster lab and some other possible gems. It's not Nintendo's fault you're a narrow-minded t**t who couldn't see a unique game if it would rape you in the ass. You only got yourself to blame with your only reading narrow-minded reporting and holding to absurd self-fullfilling prophecies.

And really Spong...missing the Sin of Punishment 2 announcement...

Oh please, Nintendo have turned so casual now that they've forgotten what its like to be hardcore. Nintendo really are taking the piss now with games like Wii Music and GameCube games with updated controls. Its like saying 'We know you bought these games years ago, but they were broken with their controls. If you get them now you'll get them complete with perfect controls'. I had Metroid Prime on GameCube... why would I want it again? Its basically their way of making crappy casual games and porting their 'classics' so they don't have to spend loads of money. The fact that a Sega game is as hardcore as people will get speaks volumes.

Bloody hell, I can't believe I'm still hearing this stuff, all you guys do is whine and whine. There is nothing 'casual' happening on the Wii that didn't happen on the ps2 before it. The most popular console always collects the most dross, if it was the PS3 it would be the same.
Nintendo is putting out it's 'classic' games (mario, zelda etc) at exactly the same rate as it's always done and the quality hasn't exactly dropped.

At least it's actually got some orginal games compared to the ps3 which has almost nothing original on it.

If you want 'hardcore' (whatever that means - I assume it's highly detailed online worlds) get a PC. FPS's are a lot better with a mouse and the graphics will always be better than a console. If you want fun arcade games get a wii. People seem to forget how intense a game of something like Mario Strikers actually is.

I'm sorry, but where did I mention the PS2? I am well aware of the fact that the PS2 had a lot of casual games, but it also had s**t loads of AAA titles like Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy X, God of War 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Gran Turismo 4, Tekken 5, GTA: Vice City, to name but a few.

Now where the Wii is concerned it is casual crap and nothing else. We have Carnival games, cooking games, f**king fitness games... these pieces of crap shouldn't be considered 'games' because they are simply shoved out of the door to make a quick buck from a market that buys 2-3 games and then doesn't bother again.

Now, what original games does it have exactly? Mario no.938? Zelda no.425 (that's a GameCube port)? Enlighen me here? Because the PS3 has games like Mirror's Edge which are more innovative than any s**tty cooking game that gets released on that casual, game industry ruining piece of s**te!

And yes, Nintendo's quality has dropped. In fact, they seem to have completely forgotten what a hardcore gamer is..

And while i'm on it, a hardcore gamer is someone who plays games regulary, knows the latest releases, looks at things like E3, knows which games have good reps, plays games to death to unlock 100% trophies on WipEout HD. I am a hardcore gamer, and I used to love Nintendo. In fact I stuck with them through the GameCube years where they were hardcore, but now they are ignoring their fans and are more interested in shoving their fitness regimes into nursing homes and having Mario Party 99 out at party's. And as for Wii Music... wow, innovation! Let's all put down out guitars for World Tour, ignore Misery Business and play Twinkle Twinkle on Wii Music ;)

And while you'r on the subject of Mario Strikers:

Madden NFL 09 > FIFA 09 > Pro Evo > That crappy Tecmo footie game on the Sega Mega Drive from around 1993 > Internet Flash footie game > Mario Strikers
