not good for ur fanbase to sell them consoles that will break after a year.

I think it is most likely someone at a retailer doing a switch or restocking a return. For example my brother used to work in electronics at Wal-Mart. When someone would bring back a console most of the time it would end up back up on the shelf for someone else. Sometimes the clerk is too lazy to check to make sure the serial number matches especially if its another employee. I mean how many of us would swap out are old launch 360 with a new one with HDMI if you could get away with it.

Wow, seriously if this turns out to be true what is the legal standpoint of this, im sure someone could sue for a wad-o-cash for this, buying refurbs at full retail and advertised new price!
