The definitions, to me, are..

Casual gamers are people who buy a Playstation because it's the only console they know, or because it's cool at the time, and tend to play FIFA after the pub.

Hardcore gamers are the gaming nerds who know everything that's coming out, will play through a Final Fantasy game, and don't go outside when it's sunny to play games instead. May have played online.
