First, obligatory response to pointless t**t SS4: Dickhead. Do us a favour and go boil your brain. You are only entertaining yourself, and this continual forum-wanking is very, very dull indeed. Still, at least it gives everyone else someone to ridicule. I suspect you just want the attention as you have no real friends. It's a shame that such a wonderful, UK-based gaming site is continually blighted by your constant, petty digs at the PS3. At least you are consistent; but consistent b******s is hardly merit-worthy.
Apologies to everyone else for subjecting you to that. And now, for my actual post.
Personally, I've never been interested in "Platinum" titles. I always looked on them as inferior copies of the real thing. I'd rather hunt down an original copy of a game I missed than get one in inferior packaging with an ugly disc (they don't bother with nice, bright, colourful labels, see). So I'm not blown away by this news, but at least it means those that aren't bothered (or as obsessive as me) will be able to boost their games collection with budget titles. Me, I consider myself a bit of collector and "Platinum" titles are like a blot on my gaming shelf, shouting at me "hey fool, so you couldn't afford the full thing at the time, huh? Caught on a bit late with that one, didja?"- and I hate my shelves mocking me.
And despite what some idiots might have you believe, there are plenty of decent titles available for PS3 with plenty more on the way. And certain games might be more appealing to some at a budget price, e.g. the under-rated Heavenly Sword (which I enjoyed once I got what they were aiming for, i.e. a cinematic and slightly slanted approach to the genre). So, while I won't be participating in the purchase of such wares, I hope all that do enjoy boosting their collection with the quality budget titles that will inevitably be available.
PS I don't tend to read responses from the brain-dead to my posts; preferring instead to say all I need to in one hit; hope I have made a reasonably clear and valid point; and then I leave to do other things. So, in case SS4 does bother attempting some half-arsed response, here is mine in advance: "nobody cares" and "tit".

I always send them back to the retailer in question with an angry note telling them I didn't get what I ordered...
